WE DID IT!!!

Thank you so very much!! Here’s an audio message from Ryan and David.

What’s next? The football game doesn’t just end when one team wins! (Wait, what?)

• Ebook versions! We’re accepting your forwarded receipts (from a sale of a print edition) to info at machineofdeath dot net. Specify your preferred flavor of ebook and we’ll have it winging your way as soon as the files are prepared.

• The official release date for the PDF version and the first episodes of the podcast is November 2nd.

• Amazon has (temporarily?) lowered the price on the book without prompting from us — probably something they do automatically once the title reaches a certain threshold? If the price was an issue before, take another look!

• Thank you to the contributors and fans for all your blogging, tweeting, skywriting and haranguing passers-by! It is working

• Thank you as well for the very kind mentions at Boing Boing, io9, Bookslut, and thanks to Chris for the incredible review and interview over at Tor.com.

• I just want to say that it is really, really exciting to check one’s email and see not one but TWO messages in there from Barnes & Noble corporate bookbuyers. More information on the bookstore situation as it develops!

This has been, and continues to be incredible, one of the great joys of our lives to see the superlative groundswell of support that has arisen around this project. We just told you about this a week ago. This is incredible.

UPDATE: We are now #1 in all Books > Literature & Fiction overall (beating even the brand-new Grisham Kindle edition that was released today)!!

Awesome! I actually was “there” at the very moment it occurred – the bestsellers sidebar on the Amazon frontpage had it at number two and when I clicked on the link to the top 100 it had it listed at number one. This was at about 1:06 EDT.

This has been one of the most exciting Tuesdays ever! Thanks guys, I’ve loved being a part of this project. 🙂

Hey guys. I am a longtime reader of every webcomic creator involved, and I CANNOT wait for my copy of the book so I can get a chance to see the works of the others I haven’t heard of before now. I missed the whole concept of this until the Boingboing article, but there was no way I could miss out on such a thing.

Huge congrats on your accomplishment here. Really, I read as much of the original forum thread as I could last night and this is the kind of thing that makes me spend so much damn time on the internet. It is awesome and I am proud to have been a (very small) part.

    Now for part two???

Too awesome. My awesometer is broken; the mercury is spilling on the floor, mixed with the exploded glass shards of its former container.

I only wish I’d been a Malki ! / North fan back in 2007; I would have taken a go at submitting something. I console myself with the knowledge that my ten bucks helped with “blitz” – can’t wait to get my copy in the mail!

Hey guys, just thought I’d say that I’m really happy for you all. What you have done and achieved really impresses me, just goes to show the world wide web is a wonderful place.

Now I just gotta wait almost a month for it to be shipped and delivered, it better be worth it.

Congratulations! For some stupid reason I thought yesterday was the day, bought the book (at the regular price, boo) and was a bit disappointed that it wasn’t on the list… then checked the website and hit myself in the head.

Huzzah! A well deserved accomplishment! Can’t wait to read it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I bought it before the price fell (and shipped it to the UK) but it was worth it, congratulations! I just looked and it is still #1, “2 days in the top 100” hurray!

What ebook flavours are on offer?

I bought mine at the regular price, I really hope you guys get a cut of that extra money. That would make it hurt a little less.

Congratulations, guys. I was not aware that yesterday was the day (I missed previous announcements) but when perchance I saw it I could not refrain from getting the book. I actually witnessed the price drop, it happened just when I added it to the basket; it was higher when I clicked and lower when I checked out. Lucky me?

Congratulations! As of now (9:50 Eastern), you’re #1 in book, #1 in Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Science Fiction > Anthologies, and #2 in Books > Literature & Fiction. Nice math, Amazon!

    Damn right.

I’d sell my soul for Maliki and North. I’d only be sad that I had just the one to sell.

Congrats, gentlemen. I originally planned to buy the book today — the day of my birth — as a present. I bought the book yesterday instead because strangers insisted. Shucks! The 26th bullied the 27th.

It was mentioned as number one on the Glenn Beck radio program this morning as an example of America’s preoccupation with death!

Now you know it’s a hit because politicos are taking it out of context!!!

ha. Glenn Beck’s just mad because it’s beating his ridiculous book. This makes me very happy. Just got the notice my copy of the book shipped, which makes me even happier.

It was fun to be a part of it and I am so glad it worked. Can’t wait to get the book itself.
